1. Who we are and what this covers
Fuellow (“Fuellow”, “we”, “us”) provides the Fuellow mobile app and this website. This policy describes how we handle personal information when you use the app as a guest or sign in, manage vehicles, log fuel, contact support, or visit our website.
For privacy questions or requests, contact [email protected]. The app is intended for personal vehicle and fuel record keeping.
2. Information we use
Account information
When you sign in with Google, Firebase Authentication processes your Google sign-in credentials and assigns an account identifier. We receive your email address, display name, and, where available, profile photo URL. Your name and email are stored with your Fuellow profile; your profile photo may be displayed in the app. We also store a last sign-in timestamp. We do not receive your Google password or request access to your Gmail messages, contacts, or Google Drive files.
Signing in is optional. If you continue as a guest, no name, email address, or profile photo is collected; see Guest mode.
Information you enter
- Vehicle details: vehicle name, model, year, fuel type, vehicle category, optional license plate and tank capacity, and initial odometer reading.
- Fuel records: date, odometer, fuel type, liters, price per liter, total cost, full or partial tank status, missed fill-up status, and an optional station name.
- Preferences: your selected vehicle, preferred units, and the period shown on your summary.
- Imported files: if you import a CSV export from another app (such as Drivvo), the file is read on your device. Only the vehicles and records it contains are saved, as described above; the file itself is not uploaded.
License plates and station names are entered by you. The current app does not request GPS location, camera, microphone, photo library, or contact permissions for fuel tracking. Do not enter sensitive information that is unnecessary for your records.
Usage analytics
Fuellow uses Google Analytics for Firebase to understand how the app is used so we can improve it. It records events such as screens viewed and features used (for example, adding a fill-up, choosing a report period, or completing an import), with non-identifying details such as fuel type, vehicle category, and counts. Firebase also collects an app instance identifier, device model, operating system and app version, language, and an approximate region derived from your IP address.
Analytics events do not include your name, email address, license plate, station names, or the amounts you enter. Fuellow does not collect your device’s advertising ID, and ad personalization signals are turned off. Analytics data is kept for the retention period set in Google Analytics and is then deleted.
Service and support information
Google and Firebase may process technical information such as IP addresses, account identifiers, device or application information, and operational logs to provide sign-in, cloud storage, security, and abuse prevention. If you email us, we receive your address, message, and any attachments you choose to send.
3. Guest mode
You can use Fuellow without signing in by choosing “Continue as guest”. Firebase Authentication then creates an anonymous account identifier for the app on your device. This identifier is not linked to your name, email address, or Google account.
Vehicles, fuel records, and preferences you enter as a guest are stored in Cloud Firestore under that anonymous identifier and cached on your device, in the same way as for signed-in accounts. We also store a last-use timestamp. Guest records can only be reached from the app session on the device that created them; they do not sync to your other devices.
If you later sign in with Google, your guest records are linked to your Google account so they can sync across devices. If that Google account already has Fuellow records, your guest vehicles and fuel records are copied into it and the anonymous guest account and its cloud records are deleted.
Because a guest account has no email address or other identifier you can give us, we generally cannot locate guest records in response to an email request. Use Delete all data in the app’s Settings (the gear icon on the Summary or Garage screen) to permanently delete your guest vehicles, fuel records, preferences, and anonymous account. If you uninstall the app or clear its data without doing so, the app can no longer reach those guest records, and they remain in cloud storage under an identifier that is not linked to you until they are removed.
4. Why we use information
- Authenticate you and maintain your account, including anonymous guest accounts.
- Save, retrieve, synchronize, and display your vehicles and fuel records.
- Calculate fuel consumption and spending summaries from the records you enter.
- Remember your preferences and support offline access to cached records.
- Understand which features are used and find problems, using aggregated usage analytics.
- Answer support and privacy requests, maintain service security, and meet applicable legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information or use your fuel records for targeted advertising. The app does not show advertising or include Crashlytics, and usage analytics are not used for advertising.
Where data protection law requires a legal basis, we process information to provide the service you request, for legitimate interests in maintaining and securing the service and answering support requests, or to meet legal obligations. Where consent is required for an additional purpose, we will ask for it before that processing begins. Fuellow does not make decisions with legal or similarly significant effects through automated processing.
6. Retention and deletion
Account information, preferences, vehicles, and fuel records are retained while your account is active, until you delete the relevant records or request account deletion. Signing out or uninstalling the app does not delete your cloud account or its records. Guest records are retained the same way; see Guest mode.
You can delete a fuel entry in the app. Deleting a vehicle also deletes the fuel records associated with that vehicle. Online access is needed for cloud changes to finish synchronizing.
Signed-in users can delete their entire Fuellow account and associated data in the app from Settings (the gear icon on the Summary or Garage screen) (Delete account), after confirming with Google. Guests can use Delete all data. You can also request deletion through the account deletion page or by emailing [email protected]. For an emailed request, after verifying ownership, we delete your Fuellow authentication account, profile and preferences, vehicles, and associated fuel records from the active service. This does not delete your Google account.
We handle verified requests without undue delay and within the time limits required by applicable law. We will explain any necessary identity checks, expected timing, or legally required exceptions in our reply. Support correspondence or limited information may be retained where necessary to fulfill a legal obligation, resolve a dispute, or prevent abuse; any such exception will be explained where applicable. Provider operational logs and any residual backup copies follow the relevant provider’s retention processes. Deleted records are not used to restore an active account.
Locally cached records may remain on a device until its app data is cleared or the app is removed. Removing local app data alone does not delete cloud records.
7. Your choices and rights
You can review, edit, and delete fuel entries and vehicles in the app. You can sign out at any time, or use the app as a guest without providing your name or email address. Guests can delete all of their data in the app. For access to your personal information, a copy of your data, corrections, account deletion, or questions about processing, contact [email protected].
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, erase, receive a portable copy of, restrict, or object to processing of your information, and to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request. You may also raise a concern with your local data protection authority. These rights are subject to applicable law and its exceptions.
8. Children
Fuellow is not directed at children under 13, or a higher minimum age where local law requires it. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children below that age. If you believe a child has provided information, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.
9. This website
This static website does not set cookies, use analytics scripts, include advertising trackers, or store information in your browser. Fonts and visual assets are served with the site. Our hosting provider may process standard request information such as your IP address, browser details, the requested page, and the time of access to serve and secure the website.
Support and deletion links open your email application. Your message is sent only when you choose to send it. Links to Google, Firebase, and app marketplaces lead to services governed by their own privacy policies.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the service or our practices change. The latest version will be available on this page with an updated date. Where legally required, we will provide additional notice or request consent for material changes.
